guilty simpson - stress (produced by j dilla)

i know february 7th has passed, but happy dilla day regardless. you’ve never heard ‘eleanor rigby’ sound like this. trying to select only one of his tracks to post was really tough, but i just discovered this one tonight, so it seems appropriate while i’m still excited about it. his instrumentals were a revelation for me.

if you don’t have the patience to watch that (absolutely worthwhile) 40 minute documentary about jay dee posted below, i thoroughly recommend you seek out some of his music instead. his 2006 album ‘donuts’ is my favorite, created from his hospital bed over his final weeks; an endlessly diverse range of emotions expressed through 31 beats. greatest producer ever.
